The event presented a unique opportunity for suppliers to engage in Unilever’s vision, hearing how they can partner with Unilever to grow their businesses sustainably together.
Paul Polman, Unilever’s CEO, explained: “Unilever’s suppliers are instrumental to delivering our vision of doubling the size of our company whilst reducing our overall environmental impact. This event allows us to celebrate the unique relationship we have with our suppliers and to cement our commitment to growing our businesses in a mutually beneficial and sustainable way.
“We recently announced the company’s highest volume growth in 30 years, and with the accelerated growth we’ve seen over the past two years, we are well on our way to achieving the target Unilever is aiming for. To continue this journey successfully, we need to work closely with our suppliers in order to have best-in-class capabilities, sustainable practices and innovation,” added Paul.
As part of the event, Unilever also recognised some outstanding examples of partnerships with a Supplier Awards Ceremony. Unilever recognised three suppliers as leaders in each of the categories of: Innovation, Sustainability, Business Integration and Winning in Developing and Emerging Markets. Winners of awards included Novozymes, BASF, Global Closure Systems, Smurfit Kappa, Morning Star, Eastern Produce Kenya, Plastek, BT Global Services, Farabi Petro, Rhodia SA and Alpla.www.unilever.com
